Clarksville native Patrick Nichols has been on many treasure hunts and has discovered 50 or more classic muscle cars that were buried under the hands of time in barns, garages, storage sheds and back yards since his youth. Recently, Nichols found a rare and valuable 1970 Chevelle SS454 LS6, that was stashed away in an industrial storage building in Reno, Nevada for decades. . The Chevelle was built in Van Nuys, Calif., and finished with a special “Metallic Orange” paint option. It is estimated that less than 25 extraordinary cars were assembled and painted the unique orange hue. Nichols purchased the car and had it transported to Clarksville. It was restored and named “Sunkist” as a wink to its original paint. . Special Offer!! Pre Order this item and we will include the Shipping Fee’s if you’re in the Lower U.S 48! Cuda Drag Car “Arlen Vanke” – 1968

"Akron" Arlen Vanke was a working-man's drag racer. Competing--and winning--in the Stock, Super Stock and Pro Stock classes, he set records with Pontiacs and, later, Plymouths, earning multiple Stock Eliminator titles with both marques. Through it all, he built the cars in a backyard garage and often drove his open ramp truck to the track and back. In fact, Chrysler hired Vanke to test their performance technology. In 1967, Arlen modified the RO23 Hemi intake manifold for racing. "NHRA rules allowed racers to modify the intake manifold, so I made the stock manifold into a plenum chamber manifold, " he said. . Vanke's Hemi, along with the Sox & Martin team, gave Mopars so many victories in the late '60s that they dominated the scene in Super Stocks. In 1968, he built this incredible HEMI Cuda that we are so proud to offer. He won the Nationals in August at Indy running SS/B with his 1968 Plymouth Hemi Cuda. He then reset the record again with a 10.61 at 140 miles per hour in the Cuda in SS/A at the Winter Nationals in Pomona, California. . . Special Offer!! In the winter of 1970, a Mr. Wayne Hagen caught wind of some rattling news: the Judge was retiring. In this case, no political figure was stepping down but rather Pontiac’s sportster of the same name. “He wanted one his whole life but couldn’t swing it financially,’ recalls his wife, Mary. “Realizing this would be his last chance to get one, he figured he should get moving.” . In April of 1971, the lovebirds swung by Hansord Pontiac, in Minneapolis, only to be greeted with a terrible announcement: they were too late. “The sales staff said sadly we had missed the boat in getting in an order,’ recalls Mary. Officially, the Judge was discontinued in February and here it was nearly a month later. “We told them we weren’t interested anymore and started to leave,’ said Mary. “Before we could get to the door, they said they would call up Pontiac and ask if they’ll make one more.” . Further pressing their luck, the Hagens had a special request: the car needed to be painted in their favorite color, Orbit Orange. “We had to have one in that color, we just loved it,’ gushed Mary. Easier said than done, that vibrant hue was no longer available for the 1971 model year. Still, eager for a sale, the dealership put in a special paint request to make it happen. . Phil Bonner had a relatively short career in the world of top level drag racing but his impact is still felt today and fans of the blue oval brand still herald Bonner as one of the best that ever strapped himself into a full bodied car. His career began like many did down south in the 1950s by hitting strips in the car he drove around every day. Beating on that old Ford with its automatic transmission on strips paved with dirt and clay helped set the stage for a meteoric rise through the straight line ranks that began in the early 1960s and ended at the close of the decade with a chosen retirement. There was certainly a lot of stuff that happened in the middle, though. Bonner was front and center through the rapid and often scary evolution of the funny car from the era of over powered and under chassied door slammers to the “advanced” tube chassis, flip top cars that were part of the program during the late 1960s. He ran Ford cars from the beginning right up until he chose to retire from the sport in 1969 when he saw the writing on the wall for Ford’s factory supported drag program and went back to the world of selling cars. . In 1971, however, Barracuda buyers could choose from just about every engine Plymouth produced, just as they had been able to the year before. Since the Coupe was just a stripped down hardtop model, their production numbers are grouped together. While these were the best selling models of the 1971 Barracudas, their production was only at 9,459. The Coupe had a base price of $2,654, while the Hardtop started at $2,766. The convertible began at $3,023 and had a production run of 1,014. . Note: Your Credit Card will not be charged until the item is ready to ship! . . [gallery ids="3835,3836,3837,3838,3839"] .

THE FIRST RAM AIR II PONTIAC FIREBIRD EVER PRODUCED LED A DOUBLE LIFE!  The 1968 1/2 Ram Air II is a late production high performance option that was offered by Pontiac in mid-year of 1968 replacing the original L67 Ram Air option. It was developed to meet the demand for maximum performance and to give Pontiac a competitive entry in drag racing competition. It was the first to use re-designed cylinder heads with large round exhaust ports and many other performance enhancements. The Ram Air II Firebird is one of the rarest Pontiac muscle cars. In total there were 110 Ram Air II Firebirds built in 1968, of which 98 were equipped with a 4-speed manual and 12 with automatic transmission. This 1968 Ram Air II Firebird is exceptionally rare, it is one of only 12 with the TH400 automatic transmission and according to Pontiac Historic Service, it is the first Ram Air II Firebird produced. Pete Weidner competed in the Ram Air II Firebird in NHRA drag racing in 1968. For 1969, it was replaced with a Ram Air IV GTO and the Ram Air II was sold.  . Another very historically significant Pontiac, this is one of the last 1971 GTO Judges produced of the 357 cars built. Pontiac introduced the 455 HO rated at 335 HP at 4,800 RPM and 480 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 RPM on the strength of the improved breathing inherent in its Ram Air IV round-port heads, 4-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust. The GTO and its Judge variant were more attractive machines if one’s tastes leaned toward the more daring, the Judge adding bold graphic excitement to the GTO’s restyled nose treatment and flared fender brows.

Quezel Gold metallic paint and contrasting Judge emblems and graphics adorn this GTO, which is one of the last Judges known to have been built in the model’s history.  . Note: Your Credit Card will not be charged until the item is ready to ship! . . [gallery ids="3642,3643,3644,3645,3646"] .

Because the cars from Shelby American have always been desirable rides, their biographies are as varied as their original owners. Shelby Mustangs and two-seat Cobras corralled buyers from all walks of life, from the blue-collar middle class to the affluent. However, Dave Steine's '65 Shelby GT350 isn't your typical rural Wisconsin Slippery's Tavern big fish story. Shelby American scheduled this GT350 for delivery via air freight to Romy Hammes Ford in South Bend, Indiana. Based on what we know about Trans World Airlines in 1965, Dave's GT350 was loaded onto a Boeing 707-331F freighter at the Los Angeles International Airport and jetted across the continent. That's quite a distinction when you consider how many Mustangs were shipped via rail and truck. After this GT350 was delivered to the dealership, the buyer backed out of the deal. The TWA pilot who flew the car from Los Angeles to Indiana got word of this turn of events and decided to buy the car from Hi-Performance Motors, Shelby's own dealership in Southern California. So the car was air freighted back to Los Angeles for delivery to the pilot. Where most Shelby Mustangs were thrashed and trashed on road courses and isolated stretches of highway, this one enjoyed 20 years of meticulous care until it was sold to Jim Bridges in--ironically--Shelby, North Carolina. It was there this car sat in a climate-controlled environment for another 22 years. Dave Steine eventually bought the GT350 from another highly respected Ford collector, Jacky Jones. . . As you know, Pro-touring cars are built to be driven; driven on the street, on the racetrack, on the drag strip, through cones at an auto-cross, no matter the setting, pro-touring cars are meant to be driven. Of course, that leaves quite a bit to interpretation as it doesn't necessarily appeal to everyone—and of course there's the old saying, "Don't race it if you can't afford to replace it." This beauty is decked out in a dark blue paint finish with the traditional GT 350 rocker panel stripe. Sporting Street Fighter Throttle wheels and tires and the reverse air hood scoop sets this one apart. Complete with a racing interior, plumbed and wired engine, and a rear window full sized spare. This one is ready to rock the streets or the track! . . [gallery ids="3803,3804,3805,3806,3807"] .

While Shelby was diving deep into the the development of the GT40 for LeMans, he also had his sights on Ford's Mustangs. He wanted to turn Ford's secretary sports car into a track champion. So, Ford sent him three white K-code 1965 Mustangs. Serial number 5R002 would become the very first GT350R prototype and is arguably the most important Mustang in history! 5R002 would have multiple parts tested on it with drivers such as Ken Miles and Bob Bondurant behind the wheel, fenders widened by hand, the famous rear window designed by Peter Brock that let air escape, reverse hood scoop, and so much more! 5R002, aka the "Flying Mustang", would win its first race it ever entered on February 14,1965 with Ken Miles piloting the car to victory. Miles and others would compile 10 wins with 5R002 throughout the season with Jerry Titus capturing the SCCA B Production Championship for 1965!
