Note:  The Drag Car shown in the photos is not included. . Donald Glenn "Don" Garlits (born January 14, 1932, Tampa, Florida) is an American drag racing driver and automotive engineer and is considered the father of drag racing. He is known as "Big Daddy" to drag racing fans around the world. Always a pioneer in the field of drag racing, he perfected the rear-engine "top fuel dragster design", an innovation motivated by the loss of part of his foot in a dragster accident. This design was notably safer, since it put most of the fuel processing and rotating parts of the dragster behind the driver. The driver was placed in "clear air," in front of nearly all the mechanical components, thus protecting the driver and allowing him to activate a variety of safety equipment in the event of catastrophic mechanical failure or a fire. Garlits was also an early promoter of the full-body, fire-resistant driver's suit - complete with socks and gloves, often branded as Nomex. Garlits was the first drag racer to officially surpass the 170, 180, 200, 240, 250, and 270 miles per hour marks in the quarter mile; he was also the first to top 200 in the 1/8 mile. He has been inducted into several Halls of Fame and has won many awards during his career. . Special Offer!! Order this item and we will include a $10.00 Credit good towards any future purchase! . Grumpy Jenkins is widely known for his superior engine building skills, being a top-notch drag racer and a multi-motorsports hall of fame inductee. In 1966, Jenkins’ decided to independently run a Chevrolet of his own, and developed an engine package that made him a stand out in racing circles. Without the help of factory support, Jenkins developed his first Grumpy’s Toy: a Chevy II with a 327 cubic-inch engine. His efforts caught the eye of Chevrolet corporate, and this led to him being added to Chevrolet’s “sponsored” team in 1967. Jenkins won only 13 NHRA national events as a driver, but was still voted the eighth best of all-time when the NHRA held its 50th anniversary in 2001, such is his importance as an engine and car builder. Inducted into every hall of fame and bestowed with every honor possible for a drag racer, Grumpy continues to see his influence on the stock classes today and his Jenkins Competition, the tuning shop he opened in the 1950s, remains in business. Malco Gasser Ramp Truck – 1970
Stock Number  – 1801421 Year / Make / Model  – 1970 Ford F-350 Malco Gasser Ramp Truck Exterior Color  –  “Malco Gasser" Color Theme Interior Color  – Black Manufacture  – Acme Estimated Release Date  – 4th Qtr 2024 Production Number  – 504 Scale  –  1:18 . "Ohio" George Montgomery was one of the first superstars in NHRA Drag Racing history.  Montgomery won the prestigious U.S. Nationals four times (1959, 1960, 1963, and 1969) and set numerous speed and e.t. records in several cars during his illustrious driving career. He was a pioneer, innovator, and mechanical genius who often fabricated his own parts, starting as far back as the 1950s. In 1966, "Ohio George" Montgomery joined the Ford Racing team and helped develop and test the new 427ci SOHC Hemi engine. In 1967, Ford convinced him to switch to a Mustang body that could be found in their dealerships—as the saying goes, "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday." Montgomery agreed, and parked the 1933 Willys in favor of the more aerodynamic 1967 Mustang body, which had a 6-71-blown 427ci SOHC Ford engine between the framerails. The 'Stang set five NHRA national records and won Super Eliminator at the 1969 Spring Nationals in Dallas. Two years later, Montgomery debuted the Mr. Gasket Gasser at the 1969 U.S. Nationals. This was a one-off 1969 Mustang Mach 1 handcrafted fiberglass body from the Ford Drag Racing program and was powered by a twin-turbocharged Boss 429 engine. The car set numerous speed and e.t. records and won Super Eliminator at the 1969 U.S. Nationals, as well as victories at the 1973 and 1974 Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida. . Special Offer!! So Cal Speed Shop 1932 Ford
Stock Number  – 1804107 Year / Make / Model  – 1932 So Cal Speed Shop Ford Truck  Exterior Color  – Red / White Interior Color  – Black Manufacture  – Acme Estimated Release Date  –  4th Qtr 2024 Production Number  – 400   Scale  –  1:18 . Unlike many tales, the story of the So-Cal Speed Shop is not one made up by some clever marketing types; it's a true story of friendship, hot rods and the need for speed. The story begins on March 22, 1922, in Los Angeles, California, with the birth of Alex Xydias. Although his father was a prominent producer of silent movies, Alex's childhood was fairly normal, and like most young boys, he naturally gravitated towards automobiles. His first hot rod, a '29 Ford roadster with a milled head and a chopped flywheel, which he drove to Fairfax High School, was paid for with part-time earnings. However, his life, like that of so many young men, was about to change when, in 1942, he joined the Army Air Corps, serving as a B-17 engineer. On the day of his discharge-March 3, 1946-using some borrowed money, Alex opened the first So-Cal Speed Shop on Olive Avenue in Burbank. Over the following decades, So-Cal Speed Shop would build some of the most iconic hot rods for many of the most notable collectors on the planet. Their innovation and attention to detail set the bar in the hot rod industry. So, without further ado, ACME is pleased to announce this So-Cal Speed Shop 1932 Ford Hot Rod Pickup in honor of all the accomplishments that Alex and the So-Cal team has achieved!  . Special Offer!!
